Nearby local attractions include...

  • The Thursford Collection offers something for all ages. Children can ride the Venetian gondola carousel while the grandparents will enjoy listening to the Mighty Wurlitzer show.

  • The Muckleburgh Collection at Weybourne is the largest military collection in the region and is housed in original World War II buildings.

  • The North Norfolk Steam railway, known as the Poppy Line, is a step back in time and runs between Sheringham and Holt.

  • The Norfolk Shire Horse Centre at West Runton has cart rides, demonstrations of working horses and collections of horse-drawn machinery.

The area is steeped in history and therefore there are many historic houses to visit which are open to the public. These include Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall, Mannington Hall and Holkham Hall.

There are many scenic footpaths to explore for those that enjoy walking. There is also the Norfolk Coastal Path and the Weavers Way. One of the best ways to see the Norfolk countryside is from the saddle of a cycle. The Norfolk Coast Cycleway runs from Cromer to Kings Lynn.

There are lots of sporting activities to try. There are links golf courses at Cromer, Sheringham and West Runton. Tennis and bowling are available in Cromer while the 'Splash' leisure centre at Sheringham has a fun pool, complete with slide and wave machine.

By far the biggest attraction to Norfolk though is the famous Norfolk Broads. A magnificent landscape of waterways opening out into expansive broads, all rich in wildlife. A traditional part of Norfolk's heritage the broads are well worth a visit. Day boats are available to hire from Stalham, Potter Heigham or Wroxham.
